- Created “Rosa Blanca” in Cuba – an image of a white rose to honor 19th Century poet José Martí to help reestablish relations between the U.S. and Cuba.
- A book about his earthworks, “Crop Art and Other Earthworks,” (Henry N. Abrams, Inc., Publishers, 1994) details Herd’s artistic journey through stunning pictures and stories.
